Snow Final Ending

Near sat in the common room,absent mindedly playing My Immortal by Evanescence. He only played the piano when he was upset or in very deep thought about an important decision. Matt and Mello were probably fighting or racing to the tree. Either way, Near was worried, and that was one emotion he could not hide.

Mello and Matt were sitting in Mello's room, both looking fairly calm.

"Do you have it ready for me?" Matt asked curiously.

"Of course, but remember the circumstances of use." Mello replied, handing Matt a loaded handgun.

"Do you really think he would make that decision?" Matt asked.

"Probably not, but you could never be too sure. Either way, it's always good to b ready, right?" Mello said.

Matt nodded,then laughed a little.

"What is it?" Mello asked.

"To think,we used to be friends....I kind of miss that. But Near is more important." Matt answered.

Mello nodded in agreement. "Should we get going?" he asked.

Matt nodded before running out of the room, Mello grabbing his handgun before following after.

Near sat at the foot of the tree, twirling his hair between his thumb and index finger. Both Matt and Mello approached him slowly and calmly, not saying a word. Near looked up at them, just barely making eye contact. All three were silent for what felt like an eternity before Near's soft voice finally spoke up.

"You both know why I called you here. You both know that there's a 50-50 chance that I'll pick you. Any objections so far?" Near asked.

Both of them shook their heads. Near saw that they both had one hand in their pocket, then started wondering what they were up to.

"If I do not pick you, you wil not start violence. You will make your own decisions and accept my choice." Near said.

Both nodded, but Near senced something was wrong.

"So,this is my decision...." Near said, making both Matt and Mello's eyes widen slightly.

"...I have to turn you both down. I'm very sorry, but I was always better off on my own. Please forgive me." Near said, a tear fallingdown his cheek. He tried to maintain  his dignity.

Matt and Mello looked at each other before looking back at Near,"It's okay." they said together. Then, they turned to face each other, pointing their guns to one another's head.

"Goodbye Mello." Matt said.

"Goodbye Matt." Mello said.

"Goodbye Near." They said together.

Then, you could hear Near sceam, the guns shoot, the bodies fall,then it was silent. Roger came out to see both Matt and Mello on the ground in a pool of mud,grass,and blood. Near cried silently where he stood, and then it started snowing.

"To think.......this all started because I wanted to see snow...." Near said.
